Breast & Gyne Cancer Centre of Hope

CancerCare Manitoba Breast & Gyne Cancer Centre of Hope is a resource centre providing information, support and referrals to programming for individuals whose lives have been touched by breast or gynecological cancer, as well as anyone concerned about breast and gyne health issues. The centre also offers information and support for men diagnosed with breast cancer.

Education & Support

Meet with our nurses (by appointment) to:

  • Understand breast or gynecological cancer
  • Navigate the breast and gyne cancer care system
  • Review surgery options and how to prepare and recover from surgery
  • Explain treatment options and side effects: chemotherapy, radiation, hormonal therapy
  • Learn about treatment induced menopause and how cancer treatments may affect the ability to have a baby (fertility)
  • Help you with after treatment side effects and what happens now with your care
  • Provide information and support for a cancer recurrence or spread of the cancer

Peer Support:

  • Speak to a volunteer who has had a similar breast or gyne cancer experience

  • Meet a nurse by Manitoba Telehealth
  • Arrange an appointment with a nurse when you will be in Winnipeg
  • Information or books can be sent by mail to you. Call us for more information.
  • Find out how to connect with a Nurse Navigator, a counsellor or a community contact volunteer closer to home.
